How do I collapse the blue bubble on my screen ?
In the "Edit my settings" menu, uncheck the box "Open the Carrousel automatically when my computer starts".
You can also close it with a right click on the bubble or choose not to keep it on top of your other applications.

How do I define my event alerts ?
From the left menu Desktop alerts/Alerts directory, subscribe to the chosen ones.
To suspend them for a moment, use the quick launch icon menu on the taskbar.
